About Me
My name is Mikayla Viloria. I'm an Asian American filmmaker and musician from Las Vegas, Nevada. From a young age, I’ve loved brainstorming wild narratives and visualizing the images that would go along with them. I went to high school at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts and double majored in Visual Design & Film.
I graduated in Spring 2020 from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas with my BA in Film with an emphasis on screenwriting and directing. I have continued to pursue my love for writing, film, and all things that allow me to share the stories that bring me joy. I am especially partial to fantasy, science fiction, dramas, and horror.
My film It Lives in a Cave in the Woods has since been accepted into twelve film festivals globally, including The Dam Short Film Festival, Tokyo Lift-Off Film Festival, Silicon Beach Film Festival, and was awarded "Best Killer" at Sin City Horror Fest, "Best Editing" at the Indie Vegas Film Festival, and "Best First Time Filmmaker" at 4th Dimension Independent Filmmaker Festival.
